Rub Rail

Hoping to fit my new rubrail this weekend and I am wondering what people would recommend to finish it off.
When I removed the rail in order to get the deck off for the stringer and floor replacement there was silicone or caulking used to trim up the rail to the hull. It looked good but I am uncertain of what to use silicone, caulking what type????

Suggestions please.

3m 4200 in caulk tube.

Thanks for the replies and the reading material.
I think 3M - 4200 is what I am going to go with.
