rubber bushings on flywheel coupler

my question is this, I have installed flywheel coupler on 1987 mercruiser 260 h.p when I took the coupler off the old engine I dont recall seeing any rubber bushings just the metal triangles at the bolt holes is this right, I used loc tite and torqued to 35 lb is this right

I am assuming that what you are calling a bushing may be the rubber bumpers (shown below) that Merc puts between the bolt holes to help support the coupler. I have seen them in a couple different shapes.

Ayuh,.... They help cut down any vibrations due to the lighter materials used for the task...
Ya don't see 'em on most full circumference couplers...

thanks I am assuming that since I didnt see any during dissassembly of old motor they were never there
