Need help with an old 1955 Johnson 35hp. motor that I have managed to keep alive for the past 25 years. Rubber hoses have deteriorated to a point that there is black mush inside hose. Where can I buy this rubber hose. It appears to be smaller 1/4 inch. Does gas line hose come in 1/32 inch sizes.<br />Thanks<br />Roger2

Re: Rubber hoses

Roger,<br />You can get the hose in a couple different OD's. Take yours down to the local auto parts store (NAPA is good ) and they can match the id and od for you.

Re: Rubber hoses

Hi:<br />Thanks for the reply. I tried (4) different auto parts stores and none of them had 7/32<br />" dia. or 9/32" dia. Finally found some 3/16" dia at the local hardware store. Have tried different outboard motor shop and they all tell me to buy a new motor. One guy told me that I could order the parts from the Johnson dealer if I had a part number to go with the hose. Anyway---Thanks again <br />Roger2

Re: Rubber hoses

Very Important!!! Make sure it is "FUEL" hose. Otherwise it will turn into black mush in days not 25 years like the old stuff. :)

Small fuel line can be found at most "Small engine" repair shops, as it is found in many "Weed eaters". Many marine shops keep "bleeder hose" in stock as well.(bulk hose in rolls) NAPA can get the hose you need, but in comes in long rolls.... :)
