When I cleaned my carbs I noticed it had rubber tip needles. They did not seem to release as easy as they should. Does anyone have any input on these?

Yes, some have rubber tips. The kit should supply a new needle, as they dont hold up well to acohol enhanced fuels...They eat rubber.
So does carbonic carb cleaners (which is most carb cleaners).
They can be cleaned with carb cleaner, but must be dried directly afterward, to prevent disolving.

If you are refering to the neoprene tip on a float valve needle, they do have a tendency to stick to the seat if installed dry. Dip them in fuel before installing them. If you store the carb for months before installation, store in an upright position so the needle won't stick in its bore. :)
