Greetings,

Wanted to say thanks for the earlier help with this issue to everyone and post an update:

Yesterday, with book in hand, and only 7 days until the big fishing trip of the year, I set out to "repair" the several nagging issues that have plagued our joy of boating.

I now see why boat shops charge $65 per hr.

Having loaned out my ohm meter, I swap out the up and down trim relays and found both to work. Snugged down the screws inside the relay box and put the cover back on - but still no up movement. I whap the relay box with the back of my hand and the up starts working. It was a simple Bl/Wh wire short.

Lunch time already?

Then on to the next item.

"...Touch the tan wire to the power head. The warning horn should sound off..."

Nope, no horn. Instead a tiny spark, an audiable pop, and everything went dead. Took me an hour just to locate the blown, 20A fuse.

Sometime later I return home with a box of 20A fuses, replace the one I popped, and move on to something I know I can examine - the spark plugs.

I discover what seems to be one of the worlds largest oil reserves on the end of plug #1.

"Wahoo!", I screamed into the house, "We struck oil - were rich!".

Girlfriend didn't think it was very funny and asked if I was ready to "wash up for dinner".

Dinner? "What do you mean dinner: we just ate lunch 20 minutes ago?".

By midnight I managed to repair everything I screwed up in trying to repair the nagging issues that are still unresolved...EXCEPT for the up trim issue!

So with this accomplishment under my belt, and my chest still swelled with manly pride, I have set aside today, the whole day, for polishing the prop and plan on tugging the boat to the shop Monday morning.

Sincerely, Bobber Head
