I have a Rule 360 GPH bilge pump that I want to connect to mains power through an inverter/converter, what is the amperage draw on these pumps so I know what converter I need. The pump is being used by my daughter for a school project and it is a pain having to lug a battery around, and I want to buy the converter so it can just be plugged into a power point.:) I have been to the rule web site but it only says 12dc and does not give any other info

Well I don't know about that model specifically but my 800GPH pumps are 6A. I would assume that 8A power source would safely cover that pump.

Alternatively you could pick up a small 12v utility battery like the ones used in lawn mowers or atvs.

I have two of the Rule 360's and have the instruction paper that came with them. It says to use a 2.5 amp fuse with it so it obviously draws less than 2 1/2 amps.
