Rulemate 1500 flaw

I must have bad luck when it comes to bilge pumps! I put in a rulemate 1500 last week and did not bench test it. It worked fine in manual but I did not have enough water to see if the auto funtion worked. Well we got rain Thusday night and checking my boat there was enough water in the bilge that it should have kicked on but did not. Had to pump it out manually. Well I ordered a replacement

Thanks it has 3 wires
Black Ground
Brown Auto - full time 12V power
Brown/White Manual

Connect Brown and Black to 12V +/- and place in water, pump should turn run

Remove bottom and see if float switch has room to move without issues
