Does anyone have the plans or know a site to get the plans for homemade wooden seats for a runabout? I have just purchaces my first boat and would like to build the seats myself. Any help that you can give would be appreciated!

Hey spiderman, you boating in Jenny Willey or Paintsville lake? What style seats are you thinking about? I made 2 jump seats for my boat. Very simple style, but easy. Wally world has a couple of different type single person seats for under $40.

Many of the fiberglass hull boats from the 50's had wooden bench style seats with throw cushions. Very flat, probably made from plywood. They would be easy to replicate. You could get some ideas from browsing the brochures from lots of different manufacturers at www.fiberglassics.com

Wally world has some deals, but if there is a Kmart near you, they have fold down vinyl seats for $20.00 right now. I want to the same thing to my 72 Fiberform in the back.I thought of building little boxes that are hinged at the floor so i can still get to the gas tanks, and screw one of those Kmart seats to each box (one on each side), with cupholders, in the middle, and space for a cooler to slide under. I am pretty sure you could somehting like that too? I figured 1/2 ply, painted in resin, then carpeted for the boxes.

P.S. If you need new gas tanks, bulbs, hoses etc. Wally world is definately the place.
