Here's my contribution to SHT. Last fall I was going to switch the postions of my 2 boats in the driveway so I could put 1 nearer to my garage for easier access to my tools. First boat moved - no problem. Go to move 2nd boat - mind you that my driveway has a downhill slant away from the street and continues down my back yard about 200' feet into the woods - and I have my truck backed up to the trailer coupler but its not quite in line with the ball hitch. So I commence to wigglin' the tongue of the trailer trying to line it up. Now the only thing holding the trailer in place is a couple of rocks behind the wheel. I rock it back and forth and all of a sudden doesn't the wheel hop over the rock and the trailer starts heading downhill. I am trying to perform my best Superman imitation and keep the boat from running down hill into the woods where it will definetly hit a tree but its dragging me like nothing! <br />I realize I can't stop this thing so in a brief moment of clarity during this panic attack, I let go and give the tounge a hard shove to the right. Luckily the trailer slowly veers off to the left and comes to a halt somewhat sideways on the side of my yard. I run up to it, breathe a sigh of relief, then quickly look around to see if anybody has seen me make an idiot of myself. Nope - all clear. I back my truck down, hook up and drag the trailer to where it should be, chock the living daylights out it, and unhook my truck. I figure everything is cool and go inside my house to get a drink and when I open the door, I hear a huge round of laughter. Turns out my entire side of my wife's family had arrived via the front of the house and managed to watch the entire show through the back windows!!! I beleive I can mark this one as "Lesson learned"!
