I am completing a much needed rewiring of my old 76' Starcraft and wanted to double check something on the lights....My running lights have a simple black and white lead while the anchor light has two black leads. Pretty sure on the running lights the ground (black wire) would go to the black wire while power wire(gray) would got to white. On the anchor lights I don't think is matters but hate to assume anything.
Also, good time to add a battery switch to disconnect the battery when not in use? Been pondering if this was something needed or just something that is not really needed.

Unless you have LED lights; The polarity of incandescent lights does not matter.
The manufacturer saved a half of a cent by using all black wire on the All Round Light.

That would be your call, one man's 'need' is another's PIA. I have one so I can completely disconnect the boat/motor electrics from the battery ... :)
