running lean or rich

what does that mean? on the side of the motor theres a handle or a knob that says lean or rich. what or how should you run it?

lean- will have more air to fuel ratio
rich-higher fuel to air ratio

it's a fine tune carb adjustment, so the engine will idle well. you really need to order a manual,

Fine tuner for the carb as tashasdaddy states. Used to have one on my Dads old 6hp Fisherman.
