I have a 2002 Mercury 40ELPTO ser# OT457635. It seems that only one plug is getting spark because it won't start and acts like it's flooding unless I take off the gas hose and start it with only the gas left in the motor. If I get it started that way it is very smokey and when I connect the hose it stalls out. When I remove the plugs only one has evidence of firing while the other is squeeky clean. Could it be the CDM module for that individual plug? Also, I can't get the trim down to work from the throttle handle only the button on the motor. The trim up works fine at both controls. Help Please.
