I have a 2000 Johnson 150 (60 degree V6, carbureted). The motor starts and seem to run fine when it warming up, but after I run the boat around the lake for a while and restart, it starts up fine but when I give it gas and idle around it wants to bog and die, I can make it get going if I get on the throttle fast but it still bogs a little but then pick right up (not good if I am putting it on the trailer).
Running it @ about 800 rpm it is running rough, I can tell when it wants to die, then I put it in nuetral and give a little throttle, I have to do this every 2 or 3 minutes while running @ 800 rpm through the no wake zone and while trailering.
Like I said it is a 2000 model, the guy I bought it from has ran it 3 or 4 times since 2005 and has not been serviced since 2004. I know that it needs services, but what can I expect they will do when I take it in? The motor has 50 - 60 total hours on it.
Thanks, Mike
