having running trouble with outboard and boat i just purchased a week ago.its a 110 johnson vro model# J110TLCCA.the motor starts and runs but on garden hose of course.first time i take it out it cranked we left dock at low rpms going past all the other docks took about 15min.once i got in the river opened it up about 3/4 throttle and ran about 5min. then it started coming off of plane finally stopping.would not take gas just sounded like running on a couple cyls.tried pumping the fuel ball and switched to the gas can for the spare motor which has 50-1 mix in it still ran the same.water out of **** tube on engine never got warm and you can hold hold finger on cyl.head for few seconds and doesnt seem real hot.ive cleaned carbs, changed plugs, fresh gas in tank, checked ohms on coils they read 263-265 on all 4 of them.plug wires went to zero on meter.compression test on warm motor 100-105 on all cyl.could this be an VRO problem, power pack or coils heating up?im lost.thanks for any advice or suggestions.

Re: runs bad

If it still has good compression, and spark while exibiting this problem, suspect fuel problem.

Such as one section of carburation is plugging up and not delivering the right amount of fuel.

Shouldn't be too hard to pull carbs, clean, reinstallk, and test again.

Pay close attention to any hardened deposits in the main jets.
