New to me boat. 2005 350 MAG MPI. Mechanic said rust was caused from water dripping down from engine hatch over time. Advised to replace the pulley's and belt. Fixing and spending money on other things on the boat as well so money is tight but I don't like to risk much on the water. So the question is, would this be ok for a winter project or should it be done right away? Could the pulley's be wire wheeled and repainted? Should the belt be replaced right away?
Thanks for your input.

Some pulleys are pricey, especially serpentines.
I see no issue with removing them, sandblast or wire wheel them, prime & paint.

Have a close look at the serpentine side of the belt for cracks, drying out. If it looks good, it's probably ok.
