so its a 98 150 carb 2 stroke. idles just fine, and runs normal up until about 2000rpms. then as you advance the throttle slowly it begins a sort of surging, in a somewhat regular pattern. if you keep advancing the throttle beyond this, the surging stops but the engine bogs and wont increase rpms, or even loses rpms. engine is definitely getting spark on all 6, and the carbs are clean.

i feel that its an electrical problem but i have tested the triggers, high and low speed stators, and everything seems normal. i even switched ecus with the other motor on the boat. any ideas to get me on track would be appreciated.

Re: s150 txrw problems

test your alarm audible and visual indicates. your describing either an RPM reduction mode or a fuel proble,
not much gives trouble with the electrics on that engine. however a bad crank position sensor can do about the same but you would lose spark on 2 cylinders.
