Today was a sad day. Winterized the boat and stored it behind the shed. Guess that means no more boating this year.

Seems like just last weekend I was out on the water without a care in the world.

Actually, it was last weekend. 8) 8) 8)

Don't ya just hate it, Mark. Did mine a few weeks back and it sucks. Hopefully the winter will be kind and we will have an early spring....I didn't get out nearly as much as usual this year due to issues beyond my control (family illness and such), so I'm hoping to make up for it next year. Can't wait for the boat shows to start.....

No,..... The Sun Didn't shine today,....... This was a couple of weeks ago.........

Btw,...... the reason I took this shot is,.......
There were 4 to 6'ers within a Short distance of the Other0side of That Bridge,........
And,... 12/ 18"ers just 30' away from My Boats,...........
Yet,......
My boats were Just Sitting there,................. Barely Rocking,+ Hardly straining the ropes......

Re: Sad but true

winterizing for me is putting it on a trailer, pointing south, and dropping it into the clear blue waters of florida :)

that is, after hurricane season!

I did my winterizing, pulled the portable AC out of the cabin and put it away for the season. Then today it was too warm again and I wished I still had it in there. Lesson learned, don't winterize too early.

Re: Sad but true

you folks in the south really got it made, boatin year round that is, short of the hurricanes.............i'd like that, what i don't think i'd like is all the peoples.......went to the lake today, 2 people in the lake. a sailboat retrievein for the winter, a fishers man, with a nice crestliner with a rude ontoit. they had an 1800 sq. acre lake to themselves. pertty nice and quite.........this time of year i wish i'd gone with an outboard........

Re: Sad but true

nebraskas a crap shoot for winterizin. i been jetskin in nov. we've had pretty mild winters the last few. so this year, the freezes seem to be commin early. so i'm winterizein early. when it starts freezein, it's time to be ontoit......unfortunetly..... i think.....

besides, my buddys got his bayliner in a garage, not winterized, if we get some hip days, perhaps i can go with him on his boat.....;)

I was gonna post that I boated yesterday and it was 89 degrees, and clear as a bell, and it was only 15 minutes from home, but then I thought that might not be very nice, so never mind . . .

Yup, Puddlestone for a quick test of a little 14' aluminum boat I picked up. It's so nice I may go again today and actually try and catch some fish . . .

Just getting started, here in Arizona. The summer is actually too hot, for the water. I know, sounds weird. Otherwise, you'll "bake" in a white open boat.

I'll leave the baking "turkeys" to Thanksgiving.8)

Re: Sad but true

I'm putting the boat away for the year this Sunday. The trout are active but there's not much free time in the coming weeks. There's not much to winterizing the boat. Take the motor off and store it in the cellar then raise the bow, pull the plug, and throw a tarp over it. It's kind of a sad day but on the other hand it's time to do the preseason maintanence on the snowblower and plow. Hopefully this season will bring more snow than last year.

Re: Sad but true

We can run year round here in N. Texas. Main problem is wind chill.....let's see, 30 degrees, 52 mph, 20 mph N wind.....wind chill factor -65 what??????.....brrrrrrrrrrrr. So I use a face shield and a tied down cap over the ears and it works great. Like to run the engine at least once per month.
