You betcha ......if you got a motor on it.......... s.204 of Canada Shipping Act......"any licensed vessel must have license # in block letters 75mm high". I just got my pleasure craft license application returned with my license # for my new to me boat and this is in the info block. License is free from the federal gov`t for a change!!!!!!!!

You have alot of Cod?

I'm in new bruswick, can only fish 3 days here I think but need a big boat because their about 14 miles out.

Their fun to catch on a trout line :) got a 15 Pounder on a 12pound test line once.

I can catch mackerel but over fished and smaller

Yes we can catch cod but only for 3 weeks in summer then 3 weeks in fall. 5 per person per day to max of 15 per boat. You can get them in the bay here right off the fishplant warfe.....they follow the blood trail when processing for mackeral and herring...get big halibut and wolfish there as well as occassional blue shark. Some people fish from canoes and kayaks in about 60` of water. I go in my boat only about 1km out for bigger ones. We use heavy spin rods with 20 pd line and 4 oz lures and codfeathers.....no live bait needed.......great fun !!!!!!!!!!!!

Cod cut in chunks and boiled with potatoes :)

20 years ago there were so much you got sick of eating them... now rare its like lobster.

My father now 75 caught a 80 pounder when young. now 10pounds is a nice one.

Re: Safety Course for boating in Canada

I am in the final few weeks of my Canadian Boating course and almost dread the exam. But at least I will have the knowledge to operate my boat safely and insure that not only my passengers are safe but also those around us in out great waters. If there is one thing for sure it is that people who take such courses are better boaters, they are also more aware of the environment around them to ensure a better life on or in the water for our children to enjoy in the future!
Happy and safe boating everyone.
