Greetings all. Have a 650 mercury outboard with thunderbolt ignition. 70sish. Prob I'm having is that the engine will not fire up inless it is in forward gear??? Took controls apart and tested. Switch has to be fully depressed for it to work. So looking at the cam in the controller this looks backwards to me. So question is has anyone had same issue? Just dosent seem right to me. I did recently replace the wire harness. However, safety switch is only one wire direct to solenoid. Help the dummy.
