Hello,
I have purchased a 1985 Johnson 6 HP Sailmaster to help power my 12' Duroboat when bass fishing. It has the "elephant ears" prop on it from the factory, on which I could find no markings. Will this prop work properly to push my V-hull duroboat along, or should I be looking for a different prop. Duroboat is 12' aluminum with 20" transom height ( reason for sailmaster ) that is very light, even fully loaded. Any info appreciated.

Re: Sailmaster Prop

Best way to tell what you need is with a test with a tach like a tinytach and a gps for speed.
Very likely you will need a prop change. Lightly loaded guessing a 9" Otherwise a probably a 7".
Lightly loaded speeds could be about 12 mph.
