What does everybody think about the recent sale of the Bombardier Recreational Products Division? This is the 2nd time in the last two years that Johnson/Evinrude is switching owners. Hopefully it will be ok, but its not going to a big company this time, mainly investors (including some of the Bombardier family).

Yours is the third topic on this subject, IBM. You might look up the others in the correct forum for general outboard discussion.

This is the "second time" in 4 years, and the JohnnyRude brands couldn't be in better hands than to remain with the Bombardier family.

Moving to General Outboard.

IBM as a sponsour of mine for my fishing i can whole heartdly say that this vertainly is a good thing. It will make the people there become even more passionate towards the product. I see no reason why Evinrude Johnston wont become #1 on the water. IN the coming months there are new engines coming and a great deal of new deals with builders. It will be interesting to see how the competition reacts

Re: Sale of Bombardier Recreational Products Division

From a dealership point of view, I don't see any big surprises. When the Bomby Corp. first announced the proposed sale and in following weeks it was proposed the Bombardier Family was interested, I felt that the "hand writing was on the wall" and I didn't really worry about what was going to happen. The service we get as a dealer is superb in all aspects. I just couldn't think of any one else that could do this kind of job in such a short period of time. It's kind of unreal to think that with what the Bomby Corp. has done with the Johnson/Evinrude products in such a short period of time and the amount of revenue that has been generated by those products, that the Bombardier name would be taken away from the products. These are very business savy folks. As miloman said, new things on the horizon. I look for the Johnny/Rude products to be THE products in the very forseeable future.
