saltwater flushing

I just put my boat on a tidal creek and am wondering what the best routine will be to flush it after running in the ocean and waterway. I've noticed some boaters rarely ever flush their engine with freshwater. Others flush them after each outing. I can run a hose out to my dock and flush it each time, but it will be a pain. I'm wondering if there is a happy medium, weekly monthly, etc.

As for me I want to flush the salt & crud out before it dries. I do it after every trip. Errr - - welll I missed once about seven years ago - but I was drinkin in them days.

Re: saltwater flushing

get some pvc pipe and run it out to the boat. and install a use bib. if you are in a colder climate, put a shutoff valve in near the water source so you can drain the pipe in winter. if not you will be patching in the spring.
