Saltwater Pontoons

I know that I/O's have saltwater versions but what about pontoon boats themselves?

Is different decking or hardware recommended or used?

I'm wanting to buy a pontoon to use in the Pamlico Sound. It's windy there and the weather can change quickly, is a pontoon a poor choice for that environment?

Pontoons need proper bottom paint on toons and ZINCS mounted to protect against salt water corrosion. It's not a bad choice for salt water, just make sure you do those two things and rinse down entire boat with fresh water after every outing and it will last..........
