texas,

You say it starts OK with the rope. WOW, you're a better man than me.

Are you pushing the key in to prime it while it's cranking?

Do you have the primer valve switch turned the right direction?

Hello!
>when you say "has a hard time cranking" do you mean it cranks over slowly?
>what is the battery voltage while cranking?
>have you tried wd-40 or adding premix while cranking?
>have you checked for spark while cranking?
>have you disconnected the kill wires at the packs and tried cranking?

 need more info

hi,
where exactly should the vavle be pointed. someone told me that it should be between the two screws on the mount where its at. can u tell me where they should be located at in what direction.

schematic: it turns over real fast like it wants to start. yes i turn the key ovder and push it in and i can hear the fuel shoot in the carb.u mean wd-40 i can squirt that in the carb and it will crank but only after i squirt in it. what do the kill wires look likie can u enlighten me please.

>do you mean it will start if wd-40 used?

If it starts with wd-40, it means you have a lean fuel condition...

If it doesn't make a difference with wd, its electrical.

If its electrical, this is what I'd try:

>disconnect the black/yellow wire from each pack. This will disable the kill circuit and eliminate the control box and wiring to it.(to kill engine, you may need to us the choke)

>disconnect the charging system stator leads from the rectifier/regulator.

see if problem goes away.

good luck....

Howdy, guys.

We need to stop recommending WD-40 as a starting aid.

It no longer uses propane as a propellant. It now uses CO2 and will not start an engine.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)
