Hi , I'm new to this site and thanks for the opportunity !! I'm Lou !
My problem is like lots of people have , you buy a used outboard and don't know the year !! So here goes : 25 hp Mariner (greyish in color ), manual start , serial # is 695 s 013386 , what year could this possibly be , for further purchases of parts ?? Is this a reliable motor too ! Thanks Lou

PS : owner of a '06 Legend "viper" / 50 hp Mercury , yes !

Made in japan in 1982 (in the first half of the year).

They are a good motor IF they are maintained correctly. The problem you face is age, 27 years will take it's toll on any motor.

Thank you so much !!! Really appreciated too !! Did a comp test yesterday , both read 142 lbs ( dry test )( excellent ! ) This outboard was slightly used by an older fellow , and parked for years . No question I'll install a fresh carb kit , verify the fuel pump ,lines, water pump and so on .... Hope parts will not be a problem ? I guess for 200.00 , can't go wrong ! Thanks again Loulegend
