sand clogging tell-tale? Can I flush it out?

I have an 1996 Johnson 112 sp.

After going over a sand bar yesterday, I have little flow from the tell-tale. Not overheating at all but makes me wonder.

Any way to flush this out to make sure that sand is my only problem?

I'm on vacation this week, and would like to wait till next week to put her in service. Am I safe?

you can remove the tail tale hose at the block and flush it out and see if that helps. may be just not the tale tell, then you need to check the impeller to see if the sand ate it, also may have to remove the tstat, and flush both ways.

Thanks so much for the info. Saved my fishing for the rest of the week!!
Flushed out the hose and outlet, now I have a flow that I haven't seen in a couple of years, but never noticed the slowing down.

Looks like I can put off service to the end of the season.
