My name is Miles <EVERYONE SAYS, ?HI MILES> I am addicted to satellite radio.

I have to admit it, I am satellite radio junkie. I have been a Sirius customer for almost 5 years and I currently have 7 radios on my account. ( 3 cars, 1 office, 1 boat, 1 home, and 1 for Mom?s Christmas present)

I am actually rewiring my boat to take second radio in the pilothouse, if I could figure out where to mount speakers in my dinghy, I have another.

Here are my radio habits
9-11am surfing
11am liberal left radio shows
12N conservative right radio shows
1pm liberal left radio shows
2pm conservative right radio shows
3pm lifestyle shows
5pm dance music or Sinatra pp depends on the work day

What is my problem?
Am I the only one with this ailment?

I really like satellite radio and listen to my friends every weekend at our campsite but I just can't seem to bring myself to spend $$$ for radio.

Its one of those things that I believe advertising should still cover.....

With all of those radios, you are certainly doing a good job, keeping Sirius/XM out of bankruptcy. :)

Listening to XM for 10-14 hours a day, 5 days a week (in the big truck), is more than enough for me. Frankly, I look forward the the silence, during the weekends.

If you like to listen to commercial-free radio music a lot, satellite is the way to go. Plus you always have the signal.

All of the talk radio stations have constant commericals, just like free radio.

I get my money's worth out of it.

Re: Satellite Radio addict

I pay for XM in my car, wife's car, FIL's big rig, and one at the office.

We listen to 70's and 80's music at work all day and sometimes Fox news channel if something big's going on (like now).

I usually listen to Hannity on AM radio on my way home from work and Limbaugh on AM at lunch. Sometimes I listen to Ed Shultz at lunch on XM. Sometimes Randi Rhodes on the way home. I try to get Thom Hartmann when I can. I tell ya, it really gives me a different perspective than a lot of people I know have.

On weekends we like to listen to the comedy stations on our way home from our "date".

Other random times I will take a notion to listen to other modern music stations or country, bluegrass, jazz etc... And then there's my mp3 collection. I listen to way more talk than music though.

I don't know about addicted, but I listen to it a lot. I also read. I don't watch much TV. I don't consider myself "plugged-in" to popular culture.

I have a Digital Sat dish at home and we receive about 600 “free to air”, “commercial free” channels at no charge.

I usually just get tired of switching channels though after a couple of minutes & turn it off, and throw a CD/DVD in.

My boat is to small for a radio, and my car is to loud.

AM radio for me. Talk/Sports. All of my radios are tuned to the same station, and there's always one I can hear. I don't actively listen, actually, unless something interesting's going on, though.

I think I'm somewhat the same. I just like something in the background, regardless of what it is. Not worth paying for ambient noise.

What i like doing wile on the subject of radio is playing with my Grundy sort wave. Its just neet to hear radio from around the world.

Cancelled mine-Sirrius.

I don't need to pay for commercials. I can get those on FREE radio, with better reception.

Same stuff, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again-again. Believe me, traveling the Western states-satelite was, I thought, the answer! NOPE.

NO THANKS.

I'm just about ready to cancel cable TV. What happened to PAID cable-commercial free?

Tired of paying-TWICE!

I go to the library and get books on CD. I don't listen to the "crap" and actually learn something(s).

agree 100% with DJ. Cable TV, some hundreds of stations, and nothing to watch, or can't find it.

Re: Satellite Radio addict

I have Sirius and basically I hate it. I only have it so I can listen to Howard when I'm at work. I tried listening to it in my car for music and I found that I ended up changing channels just as often as I did with FM. Rare for them to play 2 good songs in a row on any station. And the DJs are the WORST! Who the heck wants them? There are some talk channels I would probably enjoy but they are packed with commercials. I don't recommend it to anyone.

I certainly agree the with above posters about cable tv. My BeyondTV DVR has been a life saver. I can not watch "live" TV anymore. I swear there's less than 15 minutes of content in the average half hour show.
