Not sure if I am posting in proper forum section but here goes.

Wanna pass this info too my follow boaters. Save a few bucks.

Having too replace electric horns a number of times I was dertermined too find horn replacements . Casing of horn was perfect. Only a year old. Seems I have too purchase often. They don't last.
Trumpet horns in box stores cost 80 bucks for a single.
They are more for show, they work but most times I use my hand held air horn in an emgerency
My horn crapped out again.
5 screws and horn comes loose from its casing.
Going too auto stores over the counter they have horn replacements around 15 bucks.
Problem is they fit into casing but too high not allowing cover too fit properly.
Went too discount, napa, auto zone.
Was not going too West Marine and purchase another trumpet for 80 bucks.
Came across a Rv motor home motor cylce shop.
Owner new exactly what I wanted.
He had a motor cylcle horn, that fit . Small and loud, best of all 15 bucks.
Few easy modications, longer stainless screws and it all went together.
Everything is back, shinny, and works.

Happy Boating

Will attempt tomorrow, its dark outside.
Really was easy.
Biggest time was going store too store.
Motor cycle horn as a center bolt and holding bracket just as larger horns found in box stores.
Trumpet horn cover has a emblem in center. I drilled a small hole.
Horn has a nut and washer. Removed, put horn screw thru hole I made and tighten down with washer. You can use some corking around hole.
Original horn was held in place with the 5 screws.
Here is were you make your own Mcdyver holes.
Drill two holes from horn bracket all the way thru the other end of the casing,
Use corking all around inside cover .
Use stainless and put all together.
Two screws will hold, and you can add another on the top .
Make sure too use bracket in front too support.
Looking close you can see the screws but if you work neat nobody would notice.
Horn wired up two wires.

Works fine, Has a high pitch.
15 bucks, plus tax.

I guess the biggest question I would have is why do yours wear out so quickly? I've used trumpet horns for years and never replaced one. Are you in a salt water environment?

I revived a dead trumpet horn and made it badass.
Car horn gorilla glued into a trumpte horn, covered in PVC and used JB weld to build up a sandable surface at the edges

Orlando
Just luck of the draw.
Nothing is made to last. .
Opening up and looks new inside with no corrission at all.
First time around West Marine took back as it was still under
manufactures warranty.
This time was over two years .
Sales guy said they don't last, should consider air.
Nothing with wiring, simple concept and no surges too burn out.
Any way this was a cheap alternative.
