Like an idiot while removing my floor i cut through the hull, got an 18 inch clean saw cut throught the bottom of the hull that needs to be repaired. Yes I was cutting shallow but what I thought was glass over wood was glass on glass, will be more carefull on the other side. I was wondering how to do this one since it is only 1/8 of an inch wide, Bondo-glass fiberglass reinforced filler or sand out and lay resin/matt? Any help is appreciated.

Re: Saw cut through hull

i wouldnt use any filler.....that will be an inside out repair....really easy cause you are allready in there.

take tape and seal the outer side of the hull.....v out the inside edge of the chasinsaw cut so you have a V....

make some peanut butter....with milled fibers.......go to the hull ext thread and look on the index for oops super dooper peanut butter for the formula....

then lay matt and cloth over the inside make sure you use a few layers....

after its cured.....fill the outside with gellcoat or matrine tex and finish...

cheers

I too have this problem.... with the cutting of the hull,In my case the guy fixing the transom cut it then glassed in the transom from the inside but didnt fix the outside cut.

I think its more cosmetic....I think.

Finally got it fixed heres the pics

used poly peanutbutter and csm to complete the repairs, looks good to me.

the out side, covered the cut with painters tape
