Has anyone else registered a boat in SC that was from another state? This is my first boat in SC, I bought it from boat angel from Wyoming and man what a project to get it registered. SCDNR is so picky. I finally hired a boat title service to take care of this. I hope they can figure it out. Boat comes from a non-titling state so it needs to be registered from a bill of sale. The only title I have is for the trailer and i don't even have to register the trailer in SC. Still well worth the money and will hopefully be on the lake (legally) the weekend.:D

Yup,
I've done it twice and its not hard. Just fill out the application with the registration number, Hull ID#, along with a photo of the Hull ID, get a bill of sale from Boat Angel (so SC knows how much in taxes you need to pay) and pay the fee- that's it.
What do you mean you hired a boat title service? You mean to paid a website to look up your Hull ID?

I paid an individual that does this all the time. He gets all of the paper work together drives it to the SCDNR office in Columbia, comes back with your registration and then cuts your numbers for you.

Like everyone says

Just give them a call
they are very easy to work with
get everything together and drive to Columbia (not far)
It will be done in one afternoon

Then go to Pawleys Front Porch (best burgers in the world)
