Schools out !

Kids off today, but wife had to drive in cause NYC rat, low life, nazi, bast---s ,
didn't shut down the NYC schools. She a teacher in Staten Island.

Know why, i'm gonna post here the dirty little secret why my they will never shut a NYC school, worst weather, don't matter, and my wifes a 21 year veteren of the system.

School gives breakfast and lunch to the kids free. And if they didn't eat in school they don't eat all day some of them.

Summer also the schools are open for breakfast and lunch but no teachers there except for some " summer " programs, to hide the fact.

There i feel better holding that one in for 21 years.

Oh well i'll see if the snowblower gonna start latter. Fist time i'm gonna fire it up sense i dug it out and got it ready when it was 75 out.

Cheif - I hope what your saying is wrong about the kids eating. If thats the case, all those kids should be taken from the homes that are not feeding them. What is this some third world country? There is too much free stuff out there to go without food.

Just think. With the kids home today, you can relax and have the kids do the shoveling. Promise you'll feed them lunch?

Yes it is sad but those school children who are on reduced meal plans and free meal plans are living a tough life. Many of them are 2nd and 3d generation welfare family members.

I was in a HS upstate NY yesterday and I was shocked to find out it is classiified as one of the top 10 Most Dangerous high schools in NY

I think it is a double edged sword..... keep the school open to help the children and (receive the state and federal aid ) it puts the staff at risk (who are "adults"). On the otherside of that coin...... if the weather is that bad ........ the staff can call in too. :redface:

Mello if tell ya my wife brings in all the kids jackets and coats that don't fit them no more.

Kids shoes also, these kids in her class got no shoes. No coats, would put a hole in the heart of anyone even if the person has a heart of stone would feel for them.

The only way out for these kids is school, school, school, and believe me 99 percent will be right where they are now as a adult.

1 percent will make it out.

Where you gonna house millions of kids, if you take them away from the parents.

Talk about a uprising, your taking the meal ticket away from the parents forgetaboutit.

NYC schools - They don't have school buses do they? I can understand not closing schools if kids can walk to get there.

Food - A horrible situation for America. We have the same program in Kansas City, complete with the summer food program.

And to make matters worse for KC, the state was required to spend close to $1,000,000,000 (yep with a B!) to build new and rehab older school buildings as part of a desegregation case. Guess what, the buildings are still a disaster; even the new ones.

I can't give enough credit to America's teachers. I know that I under appreciated mine.

They run school buses if the kid lives more then a mile from the school but i think every kid can take a bus.
