Well most likely, if it will fit properly. For those that don't remember my boat was vandalized in a private marina. They got the engines, prop, drive and rudder. So I thought at first of converting to outboards and even bought a pair.
Well I traded the outboards (full price) and paid a little more and went back to inboard. I got a 571 Turbo Diesel GM with an Allison Transmission. If the fit concerns are not an issue it will be in by this fall.
That at least takes care of the "Do I have enough power" question and I prefer a diesel engine anyway.
