Scott-Atwater 5hp ID questions 19??

just got a new boat with a 5hp scott-atwater motor its older and cant find the year and was wondering if anyone knew how to id the year and model. the s# is 3775-1679, and if anyone knows if its to hard to put in a new coil or should i take it in to get it done.

3775 is a 57 5hp. If your mechanically inclined a coil change is easy.
I would try cleaning and adjusting the points first.Finding a coil will be the hard part.

Try an older lawn boy coil ,the ones befor solid state ignition.
