scratched Fiberglass boat...Help!

I moored my boat at a temporary dock today for a couple of hours. When I went to take it out I found that my bumper had fallen off. It allowed the aluminum strip on the side of the dock to scrap against the boat. It left a gray mark about 3" high and 10" long. Before I try to wax or rub it out I was wondering if anyone out there knows the correct procedure to fix it. Is there some kind of special rubbing compound or wax I should use? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

If it is a mark and not below the surface try 3M hull and fiberglass restorer. If the scratch penetrated the surface you will need to either use the 3m above and / or fill the scratch with gelcoat first.

Bob
