I am going to change the plexiglass in my cabin windows, they are permenently shut. Is there a place where I can have new ones made, (custom I guess) that I can open for air flow, and have it screened. Or is there a way to alter them? Has anyone ever did this?

mark, i remember as a kid boats having oval windows that were screened, and opened out from the bottom, similar to an awning window. it had a rod that you pushed out and locked into slots on the frame. they were also on travel trailers.

My Cruiser's had crank up hatch windows that were dead easy to screen as the mechanism was all operated via the crank.
The company that made the hatches was Deco Products Co. in Decorah Iowa.

Call these guys down in the bayou...they can make one up per your specs...you are handy enough so you can easily install it. Just send them deminsions, pics etc. and you'll get a quote.

Hinged are pricey, sliders are dry enough unless you are planing to build a submarine :p !

Boat Window Maker

You migh need to square it off, that angle cut will increase cost and reduce ventilation.
