SE116 Lower units, any good?

I have a 1993 Regal Valanti 176SE with a 4.3L Merc that needs a replacement lower unit and was wondering if anyone had used these or had any experience with them. They seem pretty reasonable and look like they have a great warranty, but that won't do any good if they don't work properly.

Please let me know what you think of them.

There have been several posts on this topic.....
The general consensus is that they are good, but do have paint issues as compared to OEM, especially when moored in salt water.......
Mechanically they are good......
For the price you could buy a new one every 5 years & never paint it....:)

Hey, thanks for the input and fast response! I did a quick search and didn't see anything posts abuot them... oh well.:)

I am not too worried about the paint, it can always be repainted the next time the impeller needs to be replaced and like you said: at that price, who cares.

Thanks again.

What he said.

I've been running one for two years now with no issues. I trailer, so the paint quality issues didn't concern me, but the HUGE money I saved did.
