Sea Drive 115 Bracket

Hi Guys,

I have a OMC Sea Drive that the (Steel) steering arm to the upper leg mounting bracket has rusted away.

Am thinking of making a little "L" shape bracket (in green) to bolt at the arrow and be welded at the red circle.

Has anyone done this?

Any other suggestions?

if it were my boat, and my families life i would find a replacement. that is not something to rig.
