WOW I love this stuff. I have used similar products on cars before, but never had results like I just did. I did three cycles of introducing Sea foam, letting it sit yadi yadi yadi. My engine smoothed out, got quieter, the oil pressure increased and became stable.

Can't wait to tune it up and do the electronic ignition conversion

Re: Sea Foam testimonial!

I have used sea foam for several years now in cars, boats, lawnmowers, and go carts. It is the only additive that I have found that really works. Just what is in that stuff?

Re: Sea Foam testimonial!

Are you guys just using it in a full tank of gas or are you adding it to a small amount of fuel. I have heard of doing both.

Re: Sea Foam testimonial!

Tommay... she smoked a whole lot so I am guessing that there was a lot of carbon in there. I have owned the boat for 5 days now, so I really don't have a good feel about how it was before. MUCH more responsive to the throttle now though

Skicat.. my guess is CRACK.. kidding. I think it is mostly an organic solvent cocktail.

Wildcat... the bottle has a bunch of applications, put it in the gas, put it in the oil. The procedure I did was to put it directly through the carb slowly. You are supposed to suck it through a vaccuum line into the manifold. The only vaccuum I got is my PVC and the hose was stuck on.

I think adding it to a tankful is prevention from needing to do the method I did. I recommend trying it. Most people do this every year as a winterizing thing

Re: Sea Foam testimonial!

Eggkr8,
Thanks for the response. I am new to the boating environment but have owned waverunners. I just pour a can of SeaFoam into the gas about every 3rd tank (18 gallon tank). I have never had any problems, but I started wondering if I was just wasting my money. The PWC 2-stroke world gets BAD carbon buildup and the experienced PWC mechanics swear by it. They just differ on how to get it through carb.

Some users shock their engines like you did and get excellent results. However, I avoid "shocking" the engine like that due to my lack of experience and mechanics telling me they fear cylinder scoring. If I had fuel flow problems, I would probably do it your way.

Hi Wildcat1,

Before going ahead and just doing what I did. I should stated that mine is a four stroke and I can see your mechanics concerns for two stroke. I will double check tonight, but I think there are instructions on the bottle about how to handle it for two stroke engines. I will post more tonight from home

Re: Sea Foam testimonial!

I know that this sounds like I am another shill for SeaFoam, but I had a bad case of hesitation, missing, bogging down after by 4th tank of gas this summer (June) with my 5.0L carbureated V8. Next tank of Gas I put in a can of SeaFoam and had not problems since. Not sure I can attribute it only to SeaFoam, but I never had the problem again.

Re: Sea Foam testimonial!

I used seafoam twice in my 4.3L merc, down the carb and in the tank, and I have used it one time in my 2000 5.3L chevy z71 w/100k miles. Couldn't tell a difference not a one. Maybe good to use if you can tell you have some type of small build up or hesitation, but otherwise, save the money for gas...

Did I read that someone mixed this stuff in with their oil? What exactly would that do for me?
