I have seen a 2004 Sea Hunt 175 Escape advertised with 90 E-Tec advertised for $13,000...if everthing checks out does this seem like a good deal? It is a dual console which is what I would be looking for. Is the Sea Hunt 175 Escape made by Key West but with a different company name on it. It looks like the 1720 model of Key West, which I heard they do not make anymore, but repalced it with the 176 DC. It looks like a really nice rig. I know the 1720 was very narrow and that is why they replaced it with the 176 design.

Re: Sea Hunt Question

Sea Hunt has a good reputation in this neck of the woods (North East, USA).

E-Tec has many fans. It's enough power; some would prefer a little more. Price depends on location. That seems high to me. For that price, I'd want more boat and more power.

Re: Sea Hunt Question

Thanks for the reply...I live in southern Louisiana and the boat is available in that area. One friend says be cautious about 2 stroke...everyone is nuts about 4 stroke these days. One friend also said the asking price is high. Has anyone heard any bad comments about the 2004 etec. It has 95 hours on it.

Re: Sea Hunt Question

Any of them share why 4 strokes are popular with them?

Thanks,

Mark

30% better fuel economy over carbed 2 stroke. 4 strokes don't go kaboom if you get oil in water in your fuel. Can't give a 2 stroke away around here.

Hey Dingbat, I'll do you a favor and take your ole 2 stroke Evinrude off your hands so you can get a new 4 stroker for your Grady. I'll have to drive up from Florida so maybe you can go halves on gas?

Re: Sea Hunt Question

Sea hunts are good boats; I'm happy the used 2004 I bought a couple years ago.

They seem to be matched OK for power so I think the 90 would be OK; I also have a 17' key west with a 70.

Sea Hunt is not made by Key West.

I prefer 2 strokes to 4 strokes so don't let that worry you.
if it' sin good shape and taken care of, $13K is not a bad price, a little high but you won't care by next summer.
