Hey guys, I have this 1980 sea king 9.9 took it it out today fishing in mi. never been out this late in mi. B4, anyway, I can get it to run good at low speed if I lean the mixture screw, but then it surges at full throttle, if I richen the mixture it runs good at full throttle but smokes and runs bad at low speed, is there more than 1 mixture screw? I only see the one on the top of carb. no I dont have a manual, and I am to cheap to buy one. ok have a good one, thanks, mike. a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work.

Re: sea king 1980

I guess noone knows

Should have a tillotson CO carb.Has a pilot air screw.that controls air in the idle mixture.Initial setting is one turn open.Turn clockwise to richen, counterclockwise to lean mixture.(Note this is oposite of most carbs)Final adjustment should be made warm in forward gear.Has a fixed highspeed jet.If wide open doesn't work right
carb probably needs a rebuild with special attention to cleaning passages and jets.
