Sea King (5 hp I think) information please.

I just purchased my first outboard. A Wards Sea King. Model: GG90020 Serial: 75X644464 I would like to know the year and HP for this engine please. Thanks! <br />Nick

Nicholas,<br /><br />I'm not sure about the hp but the year of your motor is a 1957. I have an '84 seaking and in the model number it begins with 48X the year is reversed. Yours is 75X, therefore it's a '57 model. I believe they were made by gayl motors back then and this would be reflected by the GG in the serial number. I'm not absolute about that part though. Mine was made by chrysler. <br /><br />TRP251
