Sea King 6HP.....

So I have this Sea King 6. I cannot find a model or serial number on it to save my life.

It is very clean and looks like it has a newer coat of factory paint.
It is goldish green baby food color on everything but the cowling and the prop which are white.

It has a modern look to the Monkey Wards label on the cowling as well.

It runs great, but for only a few minutes at a time. I think it is getting overheated and shutting down.

I have been fortunate to not blow the motor yet but the last time I was messing with it I put it in a tank and fired it to see if the water pump was working. There was not water coming out of the two holes below the back of the cowling and shortly after that it died again.

I acted like it was froze, but after cooling down it seems to be fine.

I noticed some discoloration of the lower (#2?) cylinder cover which strengthens my theory that it is overheating.

I have been running a 50:1 in it as well.

Maybe it should be a 24:1?

Am I babbling enough yet?

I really feel I have a gem on my hands and I want to make sure I am not destroying it.

Any input would be great!

If you're getting it so hot that it sticks you're sure trying to destroy it!

Probably a Chrysler. Take off the hood and look inside the pan the engine sits in for the data plate.
