We finally finished the Sea King yesterday and splashed it this morning. It took a lot of work and had a few setbacks. I had to have a new transom cap made and it's aluminum gutter material. Not quite thick enough but it works for now.

The Sea King did not leak!! Thanks Gluvit!! I took the two of my boys fishing this morning; we caught 3 small fish. The boat was very stable. I was using my Dad's old 28 lb. thrust Minn-Kota and hit a SCORCHING 2.6 MPH top speed. I'm very pleased with the "final" product. There are a few touches to add; rod holders, etc. Sure was great to finally float my boat. ;) Thanks for all of the advice and tips fellow boaters!!

Very nice job! It looks just like new. Those seats look comfy which allows you to fish longer without a sore back. Now you're all set for next summer.

Real nice job m8 :)

I was just looking at VA's documentation guide..could find much ( didnt look real hard though ). I would be curious to see how much it would cost to rid yourself of those big VA #'s....

I hate it when the Gov messes up your nice job with required numbers.

YD.

Thanks all!! About those numbers..... They are REALLY stuck on. I'm going to try to remove them very carefully with a heat gun. Hope to replace them with something a little less UGLY. :)

It was a fun though chilly splash!!

Way cool...nice work...capable hands aboard makes it more fun on the water. Now you need a 50s-60s 5 hp Sea King motor to round out the project...just my .02 cents.

Re: Sea King Splashed!!

Thanks all!! It has been a great little boat so far. Still trying to find a good used trailer for it.

I had to repair the trolling motor that my Dad had. A 23 year old Minn Kota MX65. We were out one day and it got noisier by the minute. When we were ready to quit for the day it just quit too; it had been REAL loud, clunking. After disassembly one of the magnets in the motor casing was broken in 3 pieces. I re-glued the pieces one at a time into the casing using 2 part epoxy. It ran fine after that!! But.... I also had to repair the relay inside the casing as the soldering had given out. A friend repaired it for me and it now runs great. Hit 3 mph with 1 adult, 2 kids (13) and gear!!

We caught 3 real nice perch on Saturday in 35F weather. :D I am now working on the Scott-Atwater, 1948 model., 3.6 hp. I've ordered an impeller, checked out the coils, etc. Looks great. Next to clean the carb, put it all back together, clean and paint.
