sea king tank connector

i moved this, i thought it would be better suited here, mods.<br /><br />hi folks, me again!<br /><br />i have 2 1970 mw/sea kings 3.5 made by clinton.<br /><br />i have misplaced the connector that "plugs" into the fuel pump comming from the tank.. it looks similar to the ones mercury used in the 70's, but a we bit smaller. you have to push it in and turn it to lock it to the pump....or how can i make mny own version.....<br /><br />where can a fine young man such as myself aquire one of these babes? are they even still made anymore?<br /><br />thanks to all<br /><br />m ikey

Can you bypass it and go straight to the pump with the fuel line??

i just did, i "rigged it " i just plugged a peice of smaller fuel line into where the "plug" was supposed to go, and now it runs thought id share

If I'm getting this right. This is the connector that is on the end of the fuel line that plugs into the engine? It's a female connector that you push onto the engine fitting and turn to lock?<br /><br />And, it looks like a current version of the Merc, but is smaller? <br /><br />If this is true, I had the same problem recently with an old (ca. 1968) Merc 9.8 hp that I had to rig up a fuel line for. The connectors that they commonly sell in non-boat (e.g. Kmart, etc.) stores "looked" right but was too big to plug into the engine.<br /><br />I went to a Merc. dealer and they had the right part. It looks exactly like the larger, current version, but smaller. Check there.
