i just bought a 5hp 2 stroke sea king and i cant figure out what year it is model #gg18801a serial #36x865122 and where to find a prop for it and fuel oil ratio anything helps
That's a 63 Gale 5hp (reverse first 2 numbers in the serial number). Gale was the house mfg. division of OMC/Evinrude/Johnson. Fuel ratio is 24:1, they went to 50:1 in 64 I think. Props are abundant on the auction site. A prop from a similar era OMC motor, 55-65, 5hp should fit it, unless someone put a newer lower unit on it.
I have a clinton 5hp outboard motor, would like to know the year and be able to get a repair manual for it can anyone help me out?
The mod# is K550 4106A
Serial # is 1250493
Type is 1V 52350A

The K-550 shows to be '76 or '77 in my book. 5.5 horse @ 4,500 RPM. Fuel mix recommended is 48 to 1 but I wouldn't be at all comfortable with less oil than a 32/1 mix.
The fuel/oil ratio already recommended of 24/1 is correct for your Gale as is the other data except for the reference to Gales built after 1963. The '63 model year saw OMC stop outboard production under the Gale banner and convert the Gale factory to their stern drive facility.
