I would like to put like to put a 6 or 7 hp kicker on my 175 sea nymph. The problem i am having, is the transom is only wide enough for my 70 hp johnson. It angles back up towards the side of the boat. I will try to post pictures. I was thinking of using a kicker mount but i dont think i can get the nuts on the back of the bolts. Its almost non accessible. The boat is getting a cover made so im not 100% on that but almost positive i can not get inside where the mount would have to go. Has anyone ever mounted a kick on a sea nymph with a transom like this?

Re: Sea Nymph 175 ss kick motor question

Hi there. I just put on a kicker motor mount. I could not get inthru the inside as you said. what I di was go thru the back side next to the main motor. I used lag bolts and drill four holes large enough to slide in the spring loaded bolts. the holes wee about 5/16 wide. I then put a al. plate behind the motor mount. Then I obtain a wooden dowl and grinded it down so the it would almosst fit in the holes the I had drilled in the back of the boat. I then drilled a hole in the center of the dowl that was a little bigger than the bolt. I palced the spring loaded nut in the wold , used a hammer to pound the wodden dowls into the holes and used sealer in the hole and on the woden dowl before I pounde them into the hole. I put sealer all around the al. plate and tighten up the bolts until the motor kmount was tight. Hope this will helpo
