Does anyone know the best way to repair a plastic boat console approx. 1/8" in thickness that has cracked. I would buy a new console, but the boat is over 25 years old. It also has two or three other small cracks in different places. Not sure why this happened possibly contraction in different temperatures. I have always kept the boat covered from the elements. Maybe someone else has had this problem. 1991 Sea Nymph 17 ft. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank You Dan I know there always glue.

That is going to be a tough fix. Not sure what type of plastic that is but here goes. In my plastic days we used to drill a hole at each end of the crack to keep the crack from spreading. then we would repair from the underside with either an aluminum plate in which we would use pop rivets or if we could find a scrap piece of the same type of plastic we would use the scrap to span the crack and use "GOOP" for an adhesive as it remains pliable to a degree and doesn't break loose from being to rigid. Now in your case, that is going to take some thinking as a pop rivet will be quite noticible so the only way is to glue it from the inside. Lots of luck on that fix but do keep us posted on what you decide.

As suggested pics would help. Many years ago I glued an iron thumb latch with early super glue.
It lasted a couple of months.
Point is if you can find a glue to work (pvc plumbers glue)?. drill the ends of the crack and glue it back together.
