sea ray or bayliner

Well I need some help. I have two boats lined up. A 1990 sea ray sundancer 250 w/454 motor and trailer. Going Ford 7500. Then there is the bayliner cierra 2355 1994 5.0 merchant also with trailer going for 6500. Both boats are loaded and run well. Any advice would be helpful. Which would you buy?

They are both Brunswick, but the SeaRay is a better quality boat with better fit and finish.

Ayuh,... That's 2 for the Searay...
A 24' hull with a 5.0l will be a Slug...

Bayliner "pocket" cruisers are the entry level of entry level, that's one reason quite a few of them have the smallest power plant (lowest cost being the target). In my viewings of similar brands, they usually have a wider beam which always made me take a second look. If you purchase the Searay and take good care of it, you will be able to sell it years from now for the same price you paid for it. I would have a surveyor check as much as possible on either boat I selected, given their age.

another vote for the sea ray. generally better quality + ya can't never have enough hp and that ones got a bbc... there's things ya can do to a 454. not so much with the 5.0..

I have only viewed the sea ray it did start right up. it was a beautiful boat in and out and i think its worth every bit of 7500 in mint shape with trailer. We have a scheduled sea trail sept 19th. and if all goes well i think ill be going with her. thanks for all the one way advice! its what i was looking for
