Does anybody know who made Sea Ray outboards in 1989/ Also what should the compression be on a 100 hp outboard of this make?
Thanks

Re: Sea Ray Outboard

Interesting question. I didn't know there was such a thing as a Sea Ray outboard. Waiting for an answer on this one.
EDIT: OMC made some re-labled motors for boat companies. Tracker comes to mind.

I've seen SeaRays with Mercurys Yamahas, and Evinrudes. I think I even saw one last year with a Honda!

In 1989, Sea Ray outboards were the painted twin of Mercury Outboards. Any Merc. dealer should be able to help you out with parts etc....

Re: Sea Ray Outboard

I have a 135 Searay motor and its a Merc. I am trying to find out what the paint color is so I can match my new gearunit to the rest of the motor. Anyone know what color the Sea ray outboard motor is. Mariner light gray is to light it needs to be darker.

Manufacturers are cagey about there compression ratings.
Generally 100psi is considered the ideal minimum.and not vary more that 15psi between cylinders.

I think I would look to automotive colors.or do a custom mix.Or paint the whole leg the lighter color not unusual to see legs done in a different tone.
