the 1977 25hp has its ancestry in the 1956 15hp engine, not the larger displacement Big Twin 25 that later evolved into the 40hp model.

The 1977 25 is a great motor, but you have to try out the newer E-TEC 25hp to see the significant changes in economy, starting, emissons, and quietness to experience what has been developed over the past 34 years since yours was new!
